Beacon Rock Golf Course opened in 1971, eleven years before the town of North Bonneville moved to its present location when the north power station of the Bonneville Dam was constructed in 1982.
The course was built with cooperation, dedication, labor, supplies and equipment provided and donated by locals with a strong desire to provide golf recreation to the local population.
Currrently, the Port of Skamania County leases the course to Kevin D. Coombs, PGA with the current lease term expiring December 31, 2012. The lease contains the possibility of two addtional five year extensions.
Coombs' company, Lacamas Family Entertainment, Inc., also leases Green Mountain Golf Course located in east Vancouver on the Vancouver/Camas border, less than one mile from Camas Meadows Golf Club.
